How to Choose the Right Sunroom Colors

How do you make the most of all that light in your sunroom? The best way is to include delicate colors or your own, giving the room its own personality. Here are some tips that will make choosing colors an easier process for you:

Keep Your Sunroom Colors Light

While the natural light gives sunrooms a big feel, incorporate lighter colors in your design to make the room appear even larger and brighter. Lighten not only the walls but also the ceiling to create an airy environment.

I love a more luminous color palette in a room filled with daylight. If you are considering darker colors, many people feel that dark colors can draw in heat, which might not be the feeling you want for a sunny room.

A brighter daylit space is more universally appealing. The same applies with choosing your furnishings; I suggest bringing in easy-going colors rather than darker colors that retain heat all day long. Choosing lighter colors will make your rooms feel bigger and cooler.

More Than Walls Talk

Plants, paintings and furnishings, oh my!

If you love the outdoors, keep that in mind when you decorate your sunroom. Bring your favorite colors indoors when you decorate, whether it’s the greens of plant life or a crisp, clear blue of the summer sky. And consider that with limited space on walls, your choice of wall art will play an extra important role.

Furnishings provide an important place not only for color, but for texture and patterns as well. Plants and flowers can also be a great source of color and vibrancy to liven up the room. Many sunrooms can end up looking bare. Don’t let that be the case.

Harmonize With the Home

If possible, complementing darker floors with brighter walls and ceilings can add sophistication without giving a small feel to the room. Tile and stone are also good considerations over carpet.

That said, tying the room in with the rest of the house is nice to do so your sunroom still feels like it’s a part of your home. If you can take colors from adjacent rooms and work them into your sunroom colors, you can create harmony without taking away from any one room.

Keep these tips in mind as the warm weather approaches. At the same time, it’s also nice to remember that your sunroom can and should be something you want to use year-round. When choosing colors for your furnishings plan accordingly so that you can enjoy your space all year long!

  1. It’s important to make sure that before you purchase the sunroom kit, you have properly chalked out your requirements according to your budget on the size, style, color, walls, panels, and overall appearance of your sunroom. This simple task will provide you with an all season sunroom that will not only keep your comfortable and cozy, but will also enhance the overall appearance of your house.
